Curiosity activates purpose.
I submerge myself in the research; I breathe it, I wear it, I bear it, until the contrariety between the work and myself becomes transparent.
Invent nothing, receive everything.
I am merely a conduit for inspiration to pass through; deepening my exploration and experimentation processes allows it to transform into something more than me.
It doesn’t matter what, but it matters how.
I embrace the constant evolution and dichotomy of creation and destruction by challenging normative formats, questioning perspective, and approaching radical themes intrepidly.
Collaboration is compassion.
I am an artist, but I am human. To be human is to be curious, and our curiosities lead to discoveries. Let us feed the world with our discoveries, so that we may endlessly grow alongside each other with our art.

Justine Kay is a New York–based movement artist working across performance, choreography, and research. Their practice is rooted in inquiry and developed through embodied exploration, using movement as a method for investigation and expression. Grounded in somatic approaches and collaboration, their work examines the relationship between physical experience and conceptual process.
They hold a BFA in Contemporary Dance Performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where they performed works by Andrea Miller, Dan Wagoner, Doug Varone, Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, Norbert De La Cruz III, and Jennifer Archibald. Justine is the Artistic Executive of Soma Project, an NYC-based artist collective developing interdisciplinary, movement-based work; in this role, they conduct research to inform choreography and conceptual direction, oversee creative production, and lead artist outreach. As of 2026, they are also a performer with KTCO Dance Company, a project-based company exploring themes of femininity and queer identity.
In addition to performing, Justine’s practice includes choreography, rehearsal direction, and collaborative development. Their work is driven by ongoing discovery, discipline, and a commitment to continued growth.
